“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.” Philippian 3:8
Yesterday, I sang a solo at church that was the song below. I have sung it before. The words hold such deep meaning in my life as I, for years, have followed not only God’s will but the leading of my husband.
Over the years, after leaving Toronto to marry Pierre in Montreal, God has led us far and wide. First came Nebraska, then Iowa, Wyoming, Oklahoma, back to Iowa, Florida and now on to new adventures in New York. I won’t even attempt to add the number of moves we have made during those times.
We set down roots in each state we were in and found good churches to serve with. We were in the ministry just by the very nature of the fact that we are Christians. Our service was and is always to the Lord. So when He called us from place to place, we went.
Does the Lord calling you to something unexpected change the fact that it is hard to leave others behind? Not at all! But as the song suggests, “whatever it takes…that’s what I’ll be willing to do.”
Near or far, separated by miles from friends and family; God’s will is always the place I want to be! That’s where I find my JOY.
