Be Still, Watch The Sunrise

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10

There are a few benefits of waking up before the crack of dawn although before drinking coffee I may be hard pressed to tell you many.  This morning, the girls and I got up at 5am to drive Pierre to the airport near Iowa City, IA.  It was a pleasant drive even if half was in the dark.  One of the best parts of the drive was the sunrise we saw.  I took the picture above as we watched God paint the sky with a promise of another beautiful day.

His creation definitely spoke to me this morning as I was reminded that He has control over the universe.  The sun rises only because He ordained it that way.  We have no need to fear when God is in our lives.

Do you have a difficult path to walk?

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1

Is there a health issue that is weighing you down?

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Does the path you’re on seem to be leading nowhere as far as you can see?

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Are you worried about the future?

“For our conversation (manner of living) is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:” Philippians 3;20

When we start to worry, we need to be still and look at that beautiful sky He has painted.  We need to remember that He takes care of the sparrows and He will take care of us, too.  Our fears can be laid to rest.  Our worries can cease when we see the beautiful sky He has painted and the care He sets over His children.  He knows and loves His own.
