“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Is anything simple in life? Is it simple to just trust and let go? I’ve been pondering the words, “simply trusting every day.” Can I even do this kind of trusting when it might mean I have to stand back and let God take control of a situation? How can I simply trust? Trust in the Lord with all your heart? Is this simply trusting? What about that little corner that says I can still take control of this tiny bit? When the Bible says “all”, it means ALL!
Simply trusting every day,
Trusting through a stormy way;
Even when my faith is small,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
A simple trust is one that, to me, says to trust every day but even deeper, every moment. God reminds us to trust Him and look only at the step in front of us. We need to trust in the storms even when our faith is small. In time of little faith, I still have to just trust Jesus, lean on Him and realize that not only does He know the situation; He is already in the future to know the resolution!
Brightly does His Spirit shine
Into this poor heart of mine;
While He leads I cannot fall;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
The Holy Spirit in our lives makes all the difference. I love that He is leading me along the way and helping the way be bright even when I’m facing difficult times. Psalm 31:3 says, “For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.”
Singing if my way is clear,
Praying if the path be drear;
If in danger for Him call;
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
We can certainly simply trust God while singing. Prayer is such a vital part of our lives. Praying while life is tough not only gives us strength for the tough moments but lifts us up into the arms of a Heavenly Father and creates a peace that leaves us simply trusting.
Trusting Him while life shall last,
Trusting Him till earth be past;
Till within the jasper wall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
Can we trust Him for our life from start to finish? I think trusting Him while we still have the breath of life means that we keep following Him and not giving up! We should not want to give up until the end. Our journey is ongoing! Whether we are here until we die or Jesus comes back for His saints, we are going to keep going – serving God. This makes the trust in Him, simple.
Trusting as the moments fly,
Trusting as the days go by;
Trusting Him whate’er befall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

The older we get the more we see life’s moments flying by. Days are going by and do we still trust? Life is happening and we are living it day by day. Is trust there? I’d like to think that I’m trusting Jesus but I also know that it is a daily commitment to do so.
Simply trusting Jesus no matter what happens should be a daily creed.
