When To Praise Our God

When morning gilds the sky,
our hearts awaking cry:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
in all our work and prayer
we ask his loving care:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

My views each morning that I sit at my desk to write are usually of a beautiful sunrise.  If the sun has risen before I get to my desk then I see beautiful sun coming through the tall trees on our adjoining property.  What better way to start each day then reminding myself to praise God for all His creation!

To God, the Word on high,
the hosts of angels cry:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let mortals too upraise
their voice in hymns of praise:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

If angels can rejoice and praise our God, then why shouldn’t I? Our mortal souls will be saved when we call on Him for salvation.  Heaven awaits!

Let earth’s wide circle round
in joyful notes resound:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let air and sea and sky
from depth to height reply:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

The joy I have just being out in God’s creation has never ceased.  Every cow I see, every cloud formation and all the beauty of this world fills me with praise to Him Who created it.

Be this, when day is past,
of all our thoughts the last:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The night becomes as day
when from the heart we say:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

As Hebrews 9:27 reminds us that physical death is sure, let’s remind ourselves to praise Jesus that eternal life is real.  “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

And so this beautiful Lord’s day, may we head to church being reminded that in all the world we see HIS glory and for this we praise His name.

Then let us join to sing
to Christ, our loving King:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this the eternal song
through all the ages long:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Psalm 19:1
