“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17
When I listen to music, I want to share every one with you. Mornings are for listening to great music. This morning was no exception as I try to get going. It is a bit more difficult today (physically) but thankfully I am up and know that I can get to church and be spiritually refreshed. Before I even get to church, though, it is great to listen to some music.
I really enjoy Calvary Quartet and when I opened a CD of music I hadn’t listened to in awhile, the first song was just begging to be shared. It reminds us of our new life we have. We don’t have to fear death. There is no reason not to have peace here on this earth. We need not worry about the path we are on. We have NEW LIFE. God provided His perfect sacrifice for us to enter heaven. Jesus knocked on our heart’s door and we just had to acknowledge our need of this perfect sacrifice, believe Jesus was that sacrifice and confess our sins.
New Life in Christ! Abundant and free.
What glories shine, what joys are mine,
What wondrous blessings I see!
My past with its sin,
The searching and strife,
Forever gone, there’s a bright new dawn!
For in Christ I have found New Life!
Sometimes it sounds almost too simple – this free gift – but God loved us enough to send His Son for us and so I simply believe in Him and the peace I have passes all understanding! John 5:24 says it best. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” We hear His Word through daily reading of it and going to church. You cannot go wrong reading His Word.
Having God’s saving grace means our sins are in the past, forever gone. We have a bright new dawn, as the song says! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) Call on His name and know the peace that I have!
