Being a parent isn’t the easiest job in the world but it can be the most fulfilling and beneficial to our health. Why do I say that? When we are fulfilling our God given roles we become people at peace and are filled with joy and happiness. This makes for a healthy life! I always say parenting is for the brave but really it doesn’t have to be difficult. How so? These verses may help to explain what I mean.
Micah 7:7 (Wait, be still, listen)
“Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.”
I Corinthians 4:7 (We don’t have this day, God does)
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 (New day, new compassions for us as we grow our little ones in Him)
“…his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
These few verses can do a lot to encourage us throughout our days and remind us that no matter how many times we repeat the same tasks, He is right there beside us. He is lifting us up and giving us the grace to be the joy-filled leaders of our homes. There will be Mondays when the children make us want to sit down and cry but don’t forget that if we are choosing joy in our journey than our children will see this and mimic us. This means they won’t have time to be ornery if they are busy mimicking our joy.
Life’s journey can be hard from day to day
As we raise our littles one for Him.
Come to His feet, lean on God
He will fill your cup to the brim.
Joy will overflow in your home
As you journey with God each day.
Your children will come to see the worth
Of having a godly joy along the way.
