It comes to my mind that the Bible is filled with many promises. Some promises are specifically for the Jewish people while others are for all of us. I’m so thankful for the promises of the Bible. I wanted to share a few of them that can help and encourage us each and every day.
I Am Forgiven
WOW – let that sink in. NOTHING I do here on earth can change the fact that I AM God’s child and I DO stand here forgiven!! Isaiah 1:18 – “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
I’m Justified
I didn’t know this growing up so lived in constant fear of wondering if ALL my sins were truly gone. YES, they ARE!!! No condemnation!
Romans 8:1 – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
I Am Free
I now have liberty in Christ. Never liberty to sin but liberty to be free from the bondage of sin. Galatians 5:1 – “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Free to tell others of the liberty we have in Christ. We are free to serve others. Free to love one another as Christ loved us. When you think of this – it is quite liberating. What a promise! Galatians 5:13 – “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
I Have Hope
Why? I have hope because my hope is in the Lord (good song, by the way). Not only did He give His life for ME but He now supplies my daily needs and brings peace to my life and to my home. Lamentations 3:25 – “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.” My eternal hope is in heaven. I do not have to worry every day if I’m DOING enough to get to heaven.
Jesus has already DONE it ALL for me. So wonderful that I have placed my faith, my trust, my hope in Him and now I have no fear. I Peter 1:3-4 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”
I Have A Purpose
Probably one of my favorite verses attached to this promise is found in Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” The Lord has thoughts of peace and He is giving us an expected end. We are NOT just on this earth filling time and space.
We are here to glorify God and show His hope and peace to others. John 15:16 – “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
I Am Blessed
Blessed to have my sins forgiven. Psalm 32:1-2 – “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.” I feel so blessed to be daily in His Word and to have a solid foundation in the home with a godly husband who leads. I feel blessed to have a good church with a godly pastor who leads us by example and challenges us weekly. Ephesians 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

Isn’t God good? Giving us promises all through His Word to encourage us daily. We can only claim these promises if we read His Word and take them to heart. What promises has He given you? Singing His promises is another great way to enjoy Him as well.
