God Will Take Care Of You

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:” Isaiah 41:10

Fear is a crippling emotion to some people.  There are phobias that range from a fear of spiders to fear of flying and so much more.  The imperfect world we live in causes us to encounter fearful situations often.  As Christians, we have THE Guide to help us never to fear.  We can look up and memorize many verses in the Bible so that when the devil attacks us with fear we can quote Scripture back to him.

This will defeat our enemy as well as our fears.   I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)  Seeking the Lord through His Word and prayer will take you far in conquering your fears.  Psalm 56:3 has only a few words but they are powerful in reminding us, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”

God will take care of you,
Through every day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.

Civilla Martin was born just a year after the Civil War was won.  She went on to live through the First World War, the Great Depression and the Second World War.  Do you think she had cause to fear?  I’ve done much reading on these time periods and the people suffered greatly because of evil men wanting to rule the world.  They knew hunger, death, disease, battle wounds, imprisonment and so much more.

I’m sure for Mrs. Martin, her fears had to be calmed through the words of Scripture and why she wrote such strong words as “when dangers fierce your path assail.”  However much she suffered what was always her conclusion?  “God will take care of you.”  She knew His care for her through some of the darkest moments in the history of our world.  She didn’t falter in her knowledge that her God cared for us.  He cares for you and He cares for me.

Copy out five verses on fear and conquering them and keep them close to you when the world seems dark.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  II Timothy 1:7
