When we move, every time, I always wonder if we REALLY need all the things we are packing up. I admit, my books always are needed; but are they?
America is a great country, one full of liberties, freedoms, equality and dare I say TOO much prosperity?
In times of prosperity, we tend to forget WHO brought us to them and instead pat ourselves on the back at how well WE are doing.
America has been a great country and I believe it is STILL a great place to live.
However, I fear we are losing our trust and faith in God. Our Creator not only made us but gave us the ability to prosper in all things. HE is the One to Whom we should be grateful!
They say with persecution the church grows. I believe with prosperity evil prevails. The devil wants to get us in a place of lethargy of our spiritual life and pride in what we own. If he can get us to this place, Christians stop sharing the gospel and showing Christ to the world.
Prosperity of wealth and belongings has it’s place in our lives but if they are going to come between me and my devotion to my God, then I want God to take it all away.
We spent a few (well many) months wondering if we’d have an income again. We recognized fully that all we had belonged to God (including our home) and if we did not follow His will, we could lose everything. Thankfully, I have a godly husband who remained faithful to His God and led our family in a godly direction.
Not only did God give him a great job, but sold our home the same weekend and has now moved us into a beautiful part of the USA where we get to shine brightly for Him.
God, bless America but only if it means we stay close to You!
