A Mother Like Sarah Is Our Goal

A mother’s strength is beyond compare, Her days are filled with many a care. She pushes her own pain and suffering away, To care for her children day by day.

Her prayers fill the heavens for her family for sure, And her heart is always filled with the cares of this world. In love she praises each day she has, And remembers to pray for their journey on earth’s paths.

Imagine being Sarah, Abraham’s wife, when she found out she was finally being blessed with a child? She wasn’t young anymore and I imagine she had somewhat resigned herself to being barren. I wonder if those 9 months of being pregnant felt like 9 years? I love how Hebrews describes her strength.  I’m sure she rested her heart much on the promise God had made to her husband that from their seed would come a mighty nation. My mother is a mother of strength. She had her difficulties with her pregnancies but she never complained.  My mom always spoke highly to my sisters and I of the times when we were babies and beyond. She is great example of how a mother’s love covers so much.  Today, she has 3 grown daughters and the amount of time she listens to us (okay me!) talking is a testament to her patience!  While mothering can be difficult, I have some help for you in this article. As we honor the ones who have given us birth or shown us great love over the years, let’s remember that that love started from the moment we realized a life was forming in us and it never leaves. Mothers are our cheerleaders, comforters, caregivers and so much more.  Read more about mothers in my book you can find here.
