What Are You Grateful For Today?

The month of November is generally a time we start thinking of gratitude.

There are so many things to be thankful for, we don’t need to limit our thanksgiving to one month.

However, with American Thanksgiving, fast approaching, I recognize that people’s minds are more on the better things of life.

Families come together, meals are put in place and football is set up on the television.

But, what can we truly be grateful for today?

Fridays? Weekends? Fall colors? Cooler temperatures?

While all of these are great, today I am grateful for a home where everyone helps each other.

Yesterday, my head cold returned.  I always seem to fight colds longer than most.  I rarely go back to bed but yesterday was a day that I forced myself to rest.

What happened to school and chores?

Melanie told me she could do her own school work.  I encouraged her in this and while I’m sure I’ll have to go through some things with her, I believe she did well.  She also seemed concerned for me so when her school was finished, she brought me a “get well” note.  Melanie took the time to ask my my symptoms.  She also set up a “symptom” basket for me.  It was so sweet.

Asking her mom what hurts.

Stephanie managed the household and heated up soup for me.

What is my point?

The house continued because the training was in place.  Training not only for how to clean a home or work on school work but also the training of a servant’s heart!

My gratefulness today lies in the fact that no matter what bumps happen in our home, we always have someone to lift us up and help us.

God has given me so much not the least of which are children who care.

Gratefulness today for children who care!

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:18
