God’s Faithfulness Is Daily

“…great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:23

God is perfect and holy.  He does not change and He loves us so much.  His compassion for us goes from the time He created us through eternity.  The faithfulness of God is clearly shown in Deuteronomy 7:9.  “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations” He is faithful to keep us daily in His care.  He gives us strength for every task whether large or small.  He shows His love in multiple ways and when we fail Him He is faithful to forgive.  Are you troubled?  Do you have a heart that is broken?  Are the trials of life working against you?  Psalm 147:3 tells us, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Mr. Chisholm was a teacher at the young age of 16.  He became a Christian at the age of 27 and went on to write over 1200 songs with 800 of them being published.  He walked a long road in life as a minister and did not retire until he turned 87!  Do you think he knew of God’s faithfulness?  I think he did and God in turn saw Mr. Chisholm’s faithfulness and rewarded him with a long and fulfilling life.

I think this verse fits perfectly when thinking about Mr. Chisholm’s life of service to His God.  “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)  Will God rejoice in our life with joy? Will He be singing over us?  Do we sing in praise to Him?  God is unchanging and will always show compassion towards His people.

Write down how God has been faithful to you.  Memorize the verses in this devotional to remind you of His care.

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.”  II Thessalonians 3:3
