Is It A Bleak Winter?

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26

Almost through December and people are experiencing the cold and sometimes dreariness of the winter months.

This song can come across maybe as melancholy but if you take time to think about the words you will see it is rich in knowledge of Christ’s birth as well as living for Him and His second coming.

Two verses that have struck me are as follows:

Our God, Heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 1:15 reminds us why He came the first time as a Babe. “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”

This verse reminds us where He has gone and when we will be with Him. John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

So while we wait for His return what part do we have at Christmastime and all year long? The most important is giving your heart to Him for eternal security!

What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him: give my heart.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,” Ephesians 3:17
