Worried Today? Not Me, I Am Full Of Hope

When we look around our world today we see a lot of chaos. Our shopping trips are getting more expensive and our safety is being compromised. It’s a time we could be fearful and worry about our lives but I have hope.

We don’t need to live in fear or worry when we know the One Who not only created our beautiful world but owns it all.

I love the children’s chorus, “He Owns The Cattle On A Thousand Hills.” Such a reassuring song that I don’t need to worry about where my next meal is coming from because God is in control. Matthew 6:26 reminds us, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

I don’t need to worry about the roof over my head because He has promised to shelter us. “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” (Psalm 61:3)

When I see all the insecurity in the world today, I can sleep calmly knowing that God is near.  Psalm 4:8, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep:  for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”

There are so many reasons to fear today and to worry but we don’t need to because God truly owns the cattle on the thousand hills. He’ll take care of you!

He owns the cattle on a thousand hills
The wealth in every mine,
He owns the rivers and the rocks and rills,
The sun and stars that shine,
Wonderful riches more than tongue can tell
He is my Father so they’re mine as well
He owns the cattle on a thousand hills
I know that He will care for me.
