Life is amazing sometimes and has a way of reminding us how small our world can get. With the advent of the internet our world became quite personal and squishy close. Some people find it too close. I’m a social person by nature (surprise, surprise) and always hated losing touch with friends and people over the years as our dad moved us around. Thankfully, Facebook has helped change that.
One family that I have gotten reacquainted with is the Cunningham family. I knew them when we all lived in Canada many years ago and we would visit them in Niagara Falls. I was always impressed with how relaxed the Mrs. was with six girls and one boy running around.
The house always seemed so joyful, relaxed and fun. Shoot ahead just a “few” years and now Marilyn and I work for the same company and are on the same team. She has become such a mentor to me and as her grandchildren call her, “Popcorn”, I’m learning much about her. I thought we could chat with her for a few minutes and find out some things about her and Monat!
Marilyn, I’m so glad we can chat. I love your nickname, “Popcorn” since Emilie also calls Melanie, “Popcorn”. What fun! I know you have many many grandchildren and I can’t wait to have a bunch to spoil, too. It is so much fun to work with you and I was hoping we could learn more about Monat and how you found it; how you use it; and how you sell it.
How did you first learn of Monat?
Bekah, my daughter, began telling me about it. Although we didn’t know much, I wanted the discount. I wasn’t looking for a huge transformation.
What helped you become an Market Partner?
My credit card. 😄
How do you fit being an MP into your daily lifestyle?
I teach 20 piano lessons and so many darling grandchildren to focus on. I’m not as active in church any longer, but Jim is full time plus! So, weekends and mostly daytime, I respond to my Monat clients.
If you had some advice for any one just starting out as an MP what would it be?
Take time to watch the videos that my daughters and others have made. Check out the resource library. We didn’t know anything about Smart Start (editor’s note: A program designed to help you excel with extra bonus and now known as Power Start)
What advice can you give us about selling Monat in the prime of your life?
One thing that is tempting, prime of life or not, is to overload people with information. I try to check myself when I want them to know all the things at once. Then, I remember that I knew so little and just started using it. Besides, I’m not dead yet, and if I can control some things about my hair, that is fine.
How do you get your husband to go along with all those amazing videos?
Interestingly, he’s not so keen or confident about actual Monat videos, as in lives. But he loves the others and pretty much lets us tell him what to do.
