Father’s Day is a time when everyone is thinking of their fathers.
I am grateful for the home God put me in over 50 years ago with parents who taught us about God, took us to church and instilled in us the joy of serving our Lord.
Gratitude fills me for the husband God gave me over 30 years ago. I am thankful for the father he has become to our children. He has taken them to church. Daily he has had family devotions with them while teaching them to have a personal relationship with God. He has loved our children and provided for them so that they’ve never gone hungry.
Being a father is tough. Especially these days when the world has gone mad and they want to put down the males in our lives.
Take time today to lift up the men in your life, encourage them to stay strong for God and to keep carrying on in the midst of daily struggles. Thank them for the provision they give in the home. Remind them of your love and appreciation for even the smallest of things. Read here of the things we can see in our fathers.
And so to my father in heaven I say thank you for taking me to church and instilling in me the love of music, history and God’s Word. My father’s obituary is as much a history lesson on who he was as a testimony to the God he served. Read it here. To the father of my children I say thank you for being present for all the kids we have. Thank you for taking them to church every time the door is open. Thank you for encouraging them in the Lord and thank you for providing for them so they never know hunger or want.
Proverbs 17:6
Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
