“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
I love going to church. Sundays are always a good day around here as we get to go to church to sing His praises, worship Him and be challenged from His Word. Since I was little, I loved Sunday School. I found this song written by a son of a Methodist minister. He also ministered in the Methodist church during the American Civil War. During this time period, some still used “Sabbath” for Sunday. He actually was a teacher and ended up writing over 1600 hymns!
I love to go to Sunday School,
When comes the Sabbath day!
I wonder that some children wish,
To stay at home, and play!
I love to go to Sunday School,
And good attention give!
I love to hear the teacher tell,
How I, for God, should live!
I love to go to Sunday School,
My lesson, there to read;
And I will try, from day to day,
That lesson’s truths to heed!
I love to go to Sunday School,
My Savior’s praise to sing;
And offer up my little prayer,
To Jesus Heavenly King!

And so, today, Saturday, I’ll be home preparing for Sunday. Because Sundays are so important to me, I find that the best thing I can do on Saturdays is stay home, make sure my house is clean and my clothes are ready for the next day. I rest and make sure that my children and I have an early bedtime. It is important to me that they understand the priority Sundays play in our lives. I also, prepare for Sunday on Saturday because I don’t want to be attending church exhausted, sick or just not ready to hear God’s Word.
If you need me, I’ll be home, singing and prepping for tomorrow.
