Love Of Life-Even Trials

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;” I Timothy 6:17

I love my life. I love everything about it even the hard times. Why? It makes me refocus on eternity, drives me to pray more often and more intentionally. Trials are grounding to me. They remind me that this life is just a blip in comparison to eternity and that is what I need to be preparing for!

Spiritual preparation is paramount not only for eternity but to show us how to walk through trials.  “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (James 1:12) There is not one life here on earth that does not suffer some trial now and then.  When those trials come it’s to help us grow closer to our God.

So as I walk through today I need to remind myself that everything I do today will have some bearing on tomorrow. The ant is a good reminder for us of being prepared and continually preparing. Proverbs 6:6 says, “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:”  Preparing during the good times (spiritually) for the trials of life will help them not seem so insurmountable.  Knowing God also means you know Who to turn to in tough times.

And therefore I have to ask – what are we doing today to prepare for tomorrow?

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6
