“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Psalms 127:3
Families. We get married and start dreaming of kids and the wonderful life we will have with them.
Babies come along and toddlers develop and a mom starts wondering if her house will ever be picture perfect again or will her hair ever come out of the messy bun and where did she put her mascara. Life gets messy for awhile.

Having five kids at home for years and years meant for crazy times and upside down rooms but what’s the alternative?
A home always clean? Never a dirty dish in the sink? Laundry always caught up? Quiet that resonates throughout the house? Silence, loneliness, no hugs or kisses or notes discovered here and there. No laughter from little voices or corny movies to watch together. No board games where mom tries to win (it builds character for kids to lose, right?) or crafts done together.
Yes, truly a house without my
kids seems like a very lonely one and so today I am beyond grateful for a
house that still holds four of our six kids and I look forward to the day when we welcome the next generation into it as well.
“As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” Psalms 127:4, 5
Lord, bless our home, protect our home
Let it be a refuge in this world of sin.
Lord, reign within, keep us strong and true
And when we need You most, Lord, draw us close, committed to each other.
Lord, bless our home we give our home to You.
