Grateful For Music In The Home

“O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” Psalms 95:1

Today I’m grateful – VERY grateful for godly music.

I’m also especially grateful for live music at any moment of any day in our home. Pierre plays throughout the day and it can be soothing, peaceful and fill us with hope.

Music is such a balm to the soul for the good times and the tough times. God blessed us with beautiful music and I’m so glad my momma kept me singing since I was little. She said I loved to carry a baby and sing. I was well practiced by the time I became a mother.

This song that Pierre is playing is so powerful as we are reminded to worship our King!

Oh, worship the King, all-glorious above,
Oh, gratefully sing His pow’r and His love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.
Oh, tell of His might, oh, sing of His grace,
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space;
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.
Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.
Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail;
Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

Frail children – we can trust in Him.  Something grand to worship Him about! His mercies – how can we stop worshipping Him? And the most powerful words in this song? Maker, Defender, Redeemer, Friend!  Let those sink in!

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16
