Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” In a world full of heartache and despair, it is easy to become discouraged and heart sick. If we don’t have a foundation of faith then we will get lost in all the negativity that surrounds us. I have good news! You don’t have to live with that despair. If you know Jesus as your personal Savior then you can have a personal relationship with Him that will take you beyond despair to joy and peace. I love this song and the words are so uplifting.
Have you a heart that’s weary
Tending a load of care?
Are you a soul that’s seeking
Rest from the burden you bear?
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13) Seek Jesus, find Him by way of the cross and the empty tomb and realize how He can take your sins and give you eternal life. He will then take your burdens and carry them for you.
Who knows your disappointments?
Who hears each time you cry?
Who understands your heartaches?
Who dries the tears from your eyes?
There are those days when all hope seems lost and your life is just spinning in circles. Do you know Jesus? Do you live in the hope that He will wipe all tears from your eyes and bring you everlasting peace? Revelation 21:4 gives us this abundant hope, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” Let’s look to Him.
Is your heart sad and lonely?
Have you no one to care?
Jesus can take your heartache.
He wants your burden to bear.
When the burdens are deep and your heartache is heavy, look to Jesus. He wants to heal you. He won’t leave your side and you can rest securely in Him. King David knew much about trials and difficult times and from this we have the richness of the Psalms. In Psalms 147:3, he reminds us, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” What a promise. He will heal us if we but go to Him.
And so I ask—-
Do you know my Jesus?
Do you know my Friend?
Have you heard He loves you?
And that He will abide ‘til the end?
I trust you do and I pray you do because He will lift every burden in your heart and replace it with a joy that is rich and full.
