Can I Count? How Can I Count?

When you count the ones who love the Lord, Count me, count me; When you count up those who trust His Word, Count me, count me.

Everyone likes to be a part of something. We want to be counted and to be known for an accomplishment, a talent, an achievement. This is why I love this song because it is asking us to stand up and be counted for God. Can I be counted as loving God?

When you count up those who’re saved by grace, Count me, count me; Who have found in Christ a hiding place, Count me, count me.

Saved by grace is a great thing to stand up and be counted for. Having a hiding place in Him is another and one I’m so glad to be counted with. Time after time I’m running to Him as my hiding place.  Having a trial?  This article could be such a blessing!

When you count up those who do the right, Count me, count me; Who are walking in the Gospel light, Count me, count me.

Do right ’til the stars fall is from another song I learned while growing up. To be counted as doing right is to be setting an example for those around us. To be counted as sharing the gospel is to be showing we are willing to take the Word of God to a lost world.

When you count up those who forward press, Count me, count me; Who shall gain the crown of righteousness, Count me, count me.

Oh may I be counted as one who has pressed on. This is the heart cry for Pierre and I. We speak of it often. We don’t want to quit but to keep moving forward.  You can be encouraged further by reading this book.
