A Mother’s Best Resource

What is your best resource when those days are hard and all you want to do is hide out in your bedroom.  When you hope the kids forget the layout of your home?

Is your gratitude resource on empty on those days when your child finally mastered the 2x’s tables after weeks of learning?

What is your go-to resource when they want an answer to one of life’s tough questions.  And when you want to give them the best answer to calm their hearts, what do you do?

God’s Word! His answers are really all we need on this earth no matter the circumstances. Whether we need a time of rejoicing or are discouraged, depressed, tired or just filled with gratitude, we have His Word. It’s such a great place to start every morning!

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22,23

We also have the fellowship of other Christians who may be experiencing the same thing as us.  We have the challenges from weekly sermons at church.

Resources are great tools to have. Finding the best on a subject gives a certain level of trust on a subject we are looking into.

Recently I had the privilege of writing a few books. I do not claim to be an expert but I thought I’d share a review on this book.  My hope is that you will want to obtain a copy for yourself and be blessed by it.

CHOOSING JOY IN THE JOURNEY

Life is tough. My grandfather knew this as he walked almost 90 years on this earth and faced trials upon trials. Yet, he never stopped smiling, he never stopped praising God and he never gave up. In the course of his life, he learned a love of writing poetry and wrote hundreds of them. A few years ago, my aunt sent me his writings and as I went through so many of these I realized the depth of his spirituality and the joy he shared through his poetry.

Years ago I was diagnosed with a debilitating syndrome that left me not able to walk for months and turned the course of my life from active to not so active. During these times I discovered a joy in writing. I also realized that life wasn’t meant to be lived in sorrow or to let trials consume us but it was to be lived in joy and in praising our Savior.

This isn’t always easy and some days a more verbal decision has to be made to live out our joy but it is possible. I decided to write and attempt to be an encouragement to others.

What better way than to take the poetry that spoke to me from my grandfather and write what was on my heart as well. A book was born and soon published.

Short devotionals to read daily and ponder on is how I formatted this book. A poem, some verses and some words of encouragement followed by a joyful ending is how this book was written so as to help others smile throughout their day.

Please enjoy and let me know how it has blessed you. You can find it for purchase on Amazon, here, in Kindle format or a paperback version.
