Isaiah 41:10, “I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ name.
When the world around us seems to be falling down and looking bleak, we can rest solely on Jesus.
Hebrews 6:19 reminds us that we have an anchor. “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
No matter what happens or what plans need to be changed, our hope is in Jesus. The anchor He provides will keep that hope secure and in Him.
Psalm 31:24 is here to remind us of a stability we can have in Christ. “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.”
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
We will not know this stability if our hope is not planted firmly in Christ.
Hebrews 3:6 is a great reminder to keep the faith. “But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He returns will He see we have kept the faith, remained hopeful and ready to stand faultless before Him?
What have you built your hope on today? Build it on Christ and you won’t have any shaky ground as you walk your path today!
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
