My Saturday Is For Relaxing

This is my peaceful place after a busy day. My backyard is special to me because not only do I get to forget the city is close by, I get to swim and enjoy the beauty around me while swimming. How do I relax?  God wants us to rest.  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

SWIMMING

This is a 27’ above ground pool that we found as an incredible deal. We also found a heat pump on sale and then we had this cover made. All in all, I can swim almost 9 months of the year and that makes me so so excited! And, to make it perfect, I have figured out how to walk and read in the pool so I’m enjoying some great books surrounded by God’s beauty.

BACKYARD

This is part of our back property and the part I see as I swim around the pool. Every time I look up from my book in the pool, I’m reminded of God’s beautiful creation and I’m grateful I get to enjoy it daily.  And now my girls have a Tower Garden I can look at, too.  The things they are growing!

MY BIRDS

Yes, they are my birds by nature of the fact they come daily to feast and we have named them and talk to them. This is Mr. Quizno (Mellie named him) and his wife. They are adorable and we love watching them enjoy our backyard. We have little titmice, some tiny pigeons and woodpeckers. Recently we have seen an armadillo and possums and even raccoons.  Science lessons in the backyard!

PLANES

While I’m terrified to be thousands of feet up in the air, I LOVE planes. I have always been fascinated by them since I did a science project on what makes planes fly. So it was with great excitement I found out that twice a year we have air shows at the airport near our home. Not only do I get to watch the big jets come in over our house to land at the airport, but I get to cheer the Thunderbirds and The Blue Angels on as they practice and perform their show over our home.  I love sitting outside with a book (not read much) watching the skies!

What better way to relax then to have these amazing things going on around our home. And, if I need to rest? I can grab a book and ask the husband to play his gorgeous grand piano for me. I say it’s a great way to live. 🤷🏻‍♀️
