I think by now you all know I am thankful for books.
Books have always been in my life. When I was a child, my father taught me that books were my friends. He would teach my sisters and I how to treat books carefully. We did not have a television growing up. My parents wanted us to be readers. They did succeed in that!
Today, I have an extensive library of over 2200 books. Yes, that is a lot. My father owned 14,000 books. As a college professor of World History and a librarian, he read all the time.
There are so many reasons to be thankful for books.
In recent years, I have found that I enjoy writing books. Book writing has become my life line when I am having a high pain day and have to stay in bed. Life is hard and I have been determined to not use the harshness of life to sink into despair. Joy is always nearby if you know Jesus as your Savior.
My books, I have chosen to write are on having this joy. There are many times when writing lifted my spirits and took me soaring to heaven in fellowship with my risen Savior.
Whether you read or write books, grab a book today and find your joy. I highly recommend starting with one of the following listed below. You won’t remain sad when you read some of the devotionals found in these books!
Choosing Joy In The Journey
A collection of poems written by my Grandpa Moir along with devotionals written by me.
Choosing Joy In Song
I enjoyed this writing this book because I was able to take some of my favorite songs and delve into the Scriptures behind them.
Singing And Praising God
This book gives you a brief story of why the author of the songs wrote them. I love history so reading the stories behind the hymns has always been interesting to me.
A Collection Of Practical Ways To Choose Joy
My most recent publication is just a gentle read of how we can daily find that joy in the Lord.

Life can get difficult but it doesn’t mean we have to lose our joy. God’s Word and singing praises to Him can help us strength our faith, retain our joy and have us looking outside ourselves. Glorifying a risen Savior is the best way to beat depression and find your joy again!
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13
