When you think of the history of our world, where does your mind begin?
Melanie and I began to learn world history this year through a wonderful curriculum. It is written by the Notgrass family. They are fervent Christians and want our children to learn history (HIS story) through the Bible.
The book we are using this year is called, “From Adam To Us.”
What a year we will have!
We have begun, of course, in the Garden of Eden. We are enjoying the bright pictures in the textbook as well as the stories told and the Scripture quoted. They are relating everything back to the Bible. My child is learning that truly history cannot be studied apart from God’s Word.
The curriculum comes with many aids and activities. We are taking it slowly and soaking in everything. I do not want to rush her learning. This is one example from their Student’s Workbook. She gets to do a puzzle or game or activity with each lesson. They have a Lesson Review book, too where she answers questions from what we have read. We have a Timeline to fill in and a book to help her to Think Biblically.

The Notgrass family really thought of everything and they have so much material that I plan to use them through the rest of her schooling!
Anytime you can find a program or school course that is Bible based, you probably have a winner. Our children need to walk through life knowing that everything on this world must be looked at through the lens of God’s Word. When they can accomplish this, they will be well on their way to a life of peace, happiness and being a godly citizen.
God’s Word settles us, teaches us and prepares us not only for this life and the world we must live in but for our future eternity, as well.
