“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;…” Jeremiah 1:5
Do you ever have moments when you wonder who you are, why you’re here and who is even noticing? I think we all have moments like this but in God’s wisdom, He has provided us with a Book that can help us through these moments and make us see our own beauty and worth. God’s Word is all we need to feel fulfilled in our life and to know we are worthy and have a purpose here. What does God say?
You are beautiful.
They say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Psalm 45:11 says, “So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.”
You are unique.
When God made you, He made you special. “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)
I take Thy promise, Lord, in all its length,
And breadth and fullness, as my daily strength;
Into life’s future fearless I may gaze,
For, Jesus, Thou art with me all the days.
You are loved.
So many people feel so unloved. Run to Him and be loved by Him. Feel His unconditional love pour over you. It is everlasting! “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
You are created for a purpose.
Jeremiah, the prophet, did not have a single convert in his lifetime. God knew Jeremiah would be talking to people who didn’t want to listen. God knew Jeremiah’s beginning to end. He created him for a purpose. Jeremiah fulfilled that purpose and God gave to him an expected end – eternal life – peace and rest in God’s heaven. Are you fulfilling the purpose you were created for?
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord…”
There may be days of darkness and distress,
When sin has power to tempt, and care to press—
Yet in the darkest day I will not fear,
For, ’mid the shadows, Thou wilt still be near.
You are precious.
Jesus bought us with His blood, His death on the cross, His all. I owe Him my all; my life, my service, my talents. I now want my whole life to be for Him. There is such joy in serving Jesus that I don’t know why anyone would not be willing to give their all not just for the love of the Savior but for the price He paid for us! Glorify God today in all you do! “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (I Corinthians 6:20)
Days may be coming fraught with loss and change,
New scenes surround my life, and faces strange;
I thank Thee that no day can ever break,
Savior, when Thou wilt leave me or forsake.
Do you see now? You are so much more than you can even imagine to God. You can walk through this life with such joy because you belong to Him!! What does He say?
YOU ARE MINE…
Do you know Him? Remember, you are His as a child of God. Don’t let anyone steal that joyful knowledge from you. Isaiah 43:1 says, “I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Wrap yourself in that truth; harbor it in your soul and when the devil comes to tempt – remind him Who you belong to!
Spend Thou those days with me, all shall be Thine—
So shall the darkest hour with glory shine.
Then, when these earthly years have passed away,
Let me be with Thee in the perfect day.
