God Has A Plan Better Than Mine

This morning I read Psalms 37 verse three
The message in that verse seemed for me.
David admonished me to “fret not”
Now if I could just develop that thought.
Trust in the Lord, and do good–
And then enjoy my supply of food.
Sometimes I get troubled, and lose my nerve
I seem to forget that it is God Whom I serve.
In my frustration, I bow my heart in prayer
And I’m always so glad to find that God is there.
Why is it then that I should lose my nerve-
Start to worry and then my God I do not serve.
Could it be then, I am going to great length
To prove to all the world that I have the strength?
It is, then, foolish thinking that I should fear.
God wants me to use His strength and cheer.
Back to David, “Trust in the Lord and do good,
And then you’ll enjoy your supply of food.”
-Grandpa George Moir

God has a plan. He is already in the plan. God already knows the outcome of the plan.  He has a plan for each of our lives so there is no cause for worry.

His Plan

Have you ever been on a vacation without a plan? The trip is one that you have decided to go out and see where the wind takes you? It can be adventurous and all well and good for some but for us as a family of 8 (six of us still at home), it would be crazy, chaotic and end up in tears for some, and frustration for others. With God we don’t have to worry. He has a plan that He has laid out.

What does Jeremiah say? “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11) God’s plan is to glorify Him on earth and tell His story to others. Remember, God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (II Peter 3:9) I do believe we should be concerned citizens but we need to be more concerned about lost souls then about politicians. Remember to spend your time telling others about God’s forgiveness offered to them.  This is His plan.

He Is In The Plan

Have you been in a storm before and wondered when it would ever end? God knows every beginning and every ending of storms, trials, tempests and plans in our lives. He is living each step with us and as He walks beside us, we can be sure that not one thing is going to happen without His knowledge! Psalm 56:9 reminds us, “When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.” He is for us! There is not a more reassuring sentence out there. God takes care of His own. He is in the plan.

He Knows The Outcome Of The Plan

How many of us worry about tomorrow? Why are we not to worry about the future? Jesus already knows what is ahead. He is already in the future.  He knows the outcome. This brings such peace. As humans, we love to be in control.  I just have to keep singing this song and reminding myself that He has control, not me!

Psalm 139:4 is a great verse to remind us that even our words are known to Him, “For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.” And who can forget Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” This week, when you look at the world around you and wonder what is going on, focus on His Word.  Remember His promises in His Word.  He knows the outcome of His plan.
