When It’s Time To Pray

Prayer.  We need it daily and yet do we use it?  Prayer is not just for a quick 911 call to our Savior.  Pray is so much more.  Prayer is needed as a form of thanksgiving when we wake up breathing in the morning.  When we realize how great our God is during the day, we should pray.  Prayer is for those who are needing strength for that next step in life.  We could express so many reasons to pray but do we pray.

The Bible says, ““Pray without ceasing.” (I Thessalonians 5:17)  Such a comforting thought.  When we are in constant communion with God a peace is provided that will keep us strong throughout the storms of life.

Pray today – all day – and walk with confidence that your conversations with your Creator is sweet!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” I Peter 5:7

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight.
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

Focus today on praising Him, seeking His face and dwelling in the most peaceful place on earth – this sweet hour of prayer.
