What book are you reading these days to help you through life? The Bible is our ultimate source of encouragement and I encourage you to start with His Word. I also enjoy reading devotionals to give me some quick words of joy for my journey.
Life can be difficult but it doesn’t have to be sad. When we choose joy each day we are opening ourselves up to a journey filled with peace, hope and love. My grandfather lived his life in this way and it shows with all the poetry he wrote. Come with us as my grandfather and I share with you the joy in our journeys and how you, too, can find this same joy.
This book is a great place to start when you want joy for your day. My grandfather graduated to heaven in 1999 but he left behind some great poems that spoke to my soul. I wanted to let them speak to others so I wrote this book. Each devotional has a poem of my grandfather’s and then a devotional for me. Here is a sample of his poetry.
Your Purpose For God
In your life, have you been tempted to think only of fun
And not really knowing that to God you are a special one?
God has placed you in the place where you are at
Planning there to use you – did you know that?
It is true, my friend, and no one can fill your place
So watch the way you live in your own little space.
God has need of you in your own special field
Many folks will know God only by the fruit you yield.
The plan of God for your life, you must carefully seek
And be ready always and choose well the words you speak.
